Stamping Sunday: Silver, Gold or Bronze As An Accent

I seriously feel like I need to tone it down. This is the second week that I create something for the group Adventures In Stamping and it’s a big fat fail again. I don’t know what it is about challenges, but it seems that I come up with the tackiest ideas ever. I don’t even know what I imagined anymore when I came up with this monstrosity, but at least it wasn’t as bad as last week’s look…at least in my opinion.

I started out innocently enough with China Glaze Exotic Encounters. I don’t know how many times I have said this, but the On Safari collection blew me away. I was really excited when the promo pictures came out and after I got them, they were everything I had hoped for and more. Kudos, China Glaze. “Well done. Whoo, whoo, whoo !” à la Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.

Beautiful color, right?

The next step was taping off my nails in a diamond pattern and I used plate MASH 46 for the design and Wet N Wild I Can’t Stand Up Straight for the stamping polish. I should have taken a picture of that before I went ahead and added the glitter but I spaced out and forgot. It actually looked interesting before I added the glitter. This Dare To Wear glitter called Disco Ball and it is full of different holo glitter shapes. I think it will look very pretty over a dark base.  Once again, I’m not thrilled with this manicure, but I like it a little better than last week’s.

And for Sunday’s food porn, here is my breakfast: a delicious egg and chorizo breakfast burrito. Yes, it was heavenly!

Hope you’re having a nice Sunday! Let me know what you think of my stampicure.

  1. You are too hard on yourself!! I'm the worst at stamping, you are brave doing a stamping mani every Sunday!! This color combo is perfect, I likey!

    1. Thanks! I just keep wondering why I can stamp better whenever it's not on a challenge or something. I guess it's performance anxiety…I can just imagine myself at the Olympics…CHOKE! lol

  2. I'm not crazy about the stamping, but I really want that burrito, with all of its horribly-bad-for-you-chorizo-goodness D:

  3. I must agree with you, the stamping isn't all that. I think the glitter and the design do not mesh well. You can't get 10s all of the time!! You have done so many great looks, don't let these challenges get to you.

    1. I know! It's that crazy person that comes out in me whenever there is a "competition." I am the world's worst sore loser so when things don't go my way, I throw a tantrum! It's probably one of the things I hate about myself the most. Next week, I'm going to go for simple. That's what usually works for me…when I don't overthink it.

  4. I love the base color, and I think you're right about the glitter/stamping combo. That glitter is INSANE. I'd love to see that over a deep bloody red.

  5. Well I think you are your own hardest critic b/c I think both are awesome. I especially like last Sundays! & your skill is awesome. I have a small stamp set I play around with & I have no where the skill you do! Keep up the inspiring work!

    1. Awww…thank you! And thanks again for the prize. I love everything. I already used the hand scrub and lotion…I LOVE THEM!!! I'm going to have to buy some. Btw, I sent you an email a couple of days ago. Don't know if maybe it went into spam because I used a different email addy.

  11. I seriously laughed when I saw that humungo picture of your burrito half eaten. Now I want a damn burrito! Thanks a lot! We are having little pepper steaks from the meat market, so it's not like we're just having top ramen, but still- your burrito looks better now. Ok, enough about the food. The nails- I like Exotic Encounters of course, I am unsure about the stamp (like I like it but it's hard to say what it's like on its own) and I'm not loving the glitter. Me, not like glitter??!! I know. :-/

    1. I think the glitter looks weird because it's concentrated into those little areas. I actually thought it looked kind of interesting before I added the glitter but I had to try to glitz it up and ruin it. lol The stamp is just stripes but I taped off the sides to make a diamond shape. I've got to say that Exotic Encounters was the belle of the ball in this experiment.

  13. I think I would like it without the glitter. I am impressed at the diamond-shape taping…never thought of or have seen that!
    Burrito…*drooling*…
