Sephora by OPI I’m So Sari!

Oh man, I am so tired right now. Today we had a little party for my brother since he turned 24 a couple of days ago so there was a lot going on. Holy crap, we are getting old. It was really fun, and I had a great time with some family and friends. I didn’t get enough sleep last night because I was up until 2 am finishing up my swatches of the Carrie Underwood polishes, so now I’m paying for it. Since I have been swatching so much in the last week, my nails took a real bad beating, and I could tell that one nail wanted to break. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this, but any time I use non-acetone remover, I feel like my hands and nails get really messed up. I never have a problem with just regular acetone which I would think would be the complete opposite. Anyway, after I finished swatching the 14 polishes, I filed my nails way down. I fee so much better because my nails were getting way too long for my own comfort. I have a couple of posts with my longer nails and then you’ll be seeing my new nubs. They’re not completely nubbinized, but I did take off some decent length. Today’s polish is also from my untrieds (yay!): Sephora by OPI I’m So Sari! Let me take a moment here and bless the polish Gods for such a glorious creation.

Sephora by OPI I'm So Sari! 1aSephora by OPI I'm So Sari! 2This beautiful glitter concoction is just so breathtaking that my photos don’t manage to do it justice. I didn’t think much of it when I bought it at Sephora, so it had been sitting in my melmers for quite a while. When I swatched Sephora by OPI Slushied, I figured that I might as well try out I’m So Sari! on top of it, and that is how this beautiful mani was born. I’m So Sari! is a pretty dense glitter which you can definitely wear on its own, but by layering it on top of a blue, I only needed one coat. It has a foil-like quality to it, but those holographic glitters really kick it up a notch.

Well, what do you think of this? I’m really loving it and will definitely be wearing it in the future. I have a bunch of stuff to share with you guys, but I think I will wait because I’m tired and should be going to bed since I work at 6 am tomorrow. Just typing that out made me cringe. Anyway, I hope that you’re enjoying your weekend, and we’ll talk soon.

  1. Holy Crap that is gorgeous! I always get really bad dryness when using non-acetone because I find myselfing scrubbing longer trying to get all the polish off. I hate when I see people telling others not to use acetone because it will dry out their skin too much. I feel by using the non-acetone you’re doing more harm than good.

    1. That totally makes sense!!!!!! I think that with acetone, it’s so easy to remove polish so you’re not doing all that scrubbing. Not to mention that non-acetone remover smells foul to me? I actually enjoy the smell of acetone and nail polish (c’mon, I can’t be the only one!). And yeah, this polish is kind of amazing! πŸ™‚

    2. I agree completely! I use nothing BUT acetone to remove nail polish. It probably helps that after removing the majority of the polish with a cotton ball or whatever, I use Q-tips to get the rest, so it’s a lot more precise and not touching my skin as much. But even when it DOES dry out your skin… put some lotion/cuticle oil on, you goofballs! I don’t understand why people make such a big deal out of that.

      1. I wonder if pure acetone makes nails more brittle? When I used all that non acetone remover, it softened my nails so much (I swatched 14 polishes in one sitting) that one of them broke a little. I’ve never had that happen before and it was so strange.

    1. Thanks, Vicki! I think it looks more blue since I have Slushied underneath and I only used a thin coat of I’m So Sari! It’s definitely more teal in the bottle like you said.

    1. I knoowwww! I seriously need 8 hours of sleep so that means I have to be asleep by 8 pm since I’m back to working at 5 am….and I think I will still be cranky. Getting older sucks in so many ways. Yes, you are weird πŸ˜› This polish looks so much more awesome irl.

  2. I prefer using either Zoya’s remover or pure acetone. I have read that it is better to use acetone because it removes the polish so quickly. Then I wash up and slather some nail/cuticle oil and let it sit, really helps.

    Your nails look great!

    1. I love Zoya’s remover but it’s too pricey to use it all the time. I use it to clean up my manicures (with a brush) because it feels moisturizing and not as drying as straight up acetone.

  3. LOL @ OPI puns! I love em and I hate em!

Your cuticles are always so awesome (weird compliment, I know). You swatch so much, yet they always look great. Post a nail care routine blog, girl!

Love this color. $OPI’s are a collector’s item now. At least in Canada they are.

    1. I tend to be more on the hate side especially because of “Irish I Was Thinner” HOW RUDE! lol I think that if people could see what I do to my cuticles, they would be horrified. haha And yes, I think they are collector’s items here now too. I better grab them all when I find them at TJ Maxx.

  4. I love this color! Do you know of any good dupes? I’m still sad Sephora by OPI has been discontinued :[ There’s so many great colors I still wanted.

    1. Unfortunately I can’t think of any dupes. The good news is that a few people have mentioned that they have found this polish for cheap at TJ Maxx and Marshalls so if you have one near you, maybe you’ll be able to find one there. I totally agree with you that there were tons of colors that I wish I hadn’t missed out on. I’m kicking myself for not ordering more when they were on clearance. πŸ™

  5. i agree that photos don’t do the polish justice. i swatched mine over a blue foil, and it turned out quite blue in photos. but it actually appears more teal in person. ah well….still pretty either way πŸ™‚
i try to use only non-acetone remover when i have non-glitter nail polish. and i save the acetone ones for when i have glitter polishes (to avoid all the scrubbing or time it takes with a foil removal method).

    1. I think mine looked a tad more teal in person as well but it was still strongly blue because I had Slushied underneath it. I think for whatever reason, my nails do not like non-acetone remover. It’s the weirdest thing, and I think it weakens my nails terribly to the point that they get all soft and break while I’m swatching. I only have that issue when using non-acetone remover so I’ll probably stick with my pure acetone and just moisturize like crazy.

  6. Aw, glad you had a good time at the party! I can’t believe he’s 24 already! My brother’s in that late 20s stage where I started feeling old myself…when he turns 30 in a year and a quarter I may just pass out.
You were up swatching that collection until 2 a.m.?!?! Good Lordy, now I feel I have to buy it out of obligation! πŸ™‚
“Let me take a moment here and bless the polish Gods for such a glorious creation.” GAH! Amen, sista! This is A+!!!

    1. I am still in denial that he is in his mid 20’s because that means I’m in my mid 30’s. And yep…when I get into a swatching haze, I forget time and space.
