Are there colors that you feel you get a lot of compliments on when you wear them on your nails? Every single time I wear hot pink, I get tons of compliments whether it’s on my nails or on my lips. I have a definite obsession with hot pink lipsticks (I’ll be doing a review for Illamasqua Eurydice soon!) and nail polish so when I saw Seche Snapdragon, I was on it like white on rice. Let’s look at this new bottle of hot pink love. (Ok, does that sound kind of inappropriate or is it just me??)

Seche Snapdragon is a gorgeous bright pink creme polish that is a little Pepto-Bismol-y, but I think that it definitely pops against my skin tone. I wore this color for three days and everywhere I went, people complimented my nails–even men! I have mixed feelings about the Seche nail polish line, though. I am a hardcore fan of Seche Vite as you probably already know, but I just can’t get on the love boat when it comes to the nail polish line because I find the formula a little strange. I think the colors are great–saturated and vibrant–but the formula is just a little strange. I feel that they get gummy really quickly when you’re applying it so if you don’t work quickly enough, your nails can become a streaky mess.  Despite this, I will continue to purchase these polishes because I just can’t stop myself! Ha!

This weekend I stopped by a convenience store that was selling Pop Rocks candy/gum. Do you guys remember that? It’s a grainy, pebble-y candy that crackles and pops once it comes in contact with your saliva. Basically it’s just the carbon dioxide being released that makes that popping sound that makes you feel like something is exploding in your mouth. (Get your mind out of the gutter.) So anyway, the reason I am mentioning this is because I couldn’t stop laughing when I remembered a story about this candy: my youngest brother (whom some of you may know as “the mooch”) is 10 years younger than me so that is a prime torture age difference. One day I had some Pop Rocks and of course he wanted some. The evil in me decided to play a trick on him so I sweetly gave him my Pop Rocks. As soon as he put them in his mouth, he asked me why they were popping and I acted like I didn’t know what he was talking about. I then proceeded to tell him that the exploding Pop Rocks were going to travel to his brain and then make his brain explode. Of course he started bawling and then I started to feel bad about playing that joke on him. He is 23 years old now and he STILL remembers that day. Evil sister, much?

Anyway, I don’t have much of an update regarding all my issues and stuff. I’m just hanging in there and hoping that all my efforts will help me get to a better place in my life. I hope that you have all been doing well and thanks so much for stopping by today.

  1. “Bottle of hot pink love” does sound inappropriate…yet also kind of awesome. Maybe it should be part of our hooker-themed nail polish line, along with “Lady Friday Night.”
This is completely gorgeous. I have been using Twitter mostly on my phone and it looks amazing now seeing it on the monitor.
Only you have the skill of adding innuendo into a childhood novelty…
I am LITERALLY laughing out loud at that story. I was pretty mean/bossy to my brother, too. I kinda hope he doesn’t remember much because it’s embarassing.

    1. I think we should go into business together for a hooker-themed nail polish line. Whadaya say? hahaha Well, I kind of tortured both of my brothers throughout the years and they definitely do remember everything. I’m the only girl and the oldest–I had to take advantage of that!

      1. I say yes! God knows we both need the $, and even if we aren’t successful, we’d at least have a blast. Although I shouldn’t doubt us…if those butt-shaped nail polish bottles can exist, I am sure we’ll be a hit!

  2. I love this color! I can’t always wear hot pinks (or some blues) because they make my hands/fingers look weird.

Now, I’m the youngest, so I always got crap handed to me like what you said. 😛

I am glad to hear that you’re hanging in there. I really like your blog, and follow pretty regularly, so hope you stop by mine.

    1. Thanks for visiting! I’ll definitely stop by your blog now that you got one going…one more person joining the dark side. Muawhahahaha! 😉

  3. Oh my this is a gorgeous pink. I really does compliment your skin color.
I haven’t seen any Seche Vite colors in my area. 🙁 Any dupes that you can think of?
    Older siblings rock!!!

    1. I’m going to have to look through my stash to see if I see any dupes. The nice thing is that there are A LOT of hot pinks out there–especially once summer hits. I think I posted that pink in PWRC…Illamasqua Superstition which is also a great pink.

  4. Ooh, I’m going to need to look for this the next time I hit the Asian market with the Seche colors and great prices–$3.50/bottle. 🙂

    1. Btw, I think the Seche colors dry almost as quickly as the top coat so it forces you to work fast. I’ve found that if I make sure I don’t have any fans on and am out of the AC’s draft, my polish doesn’t get gummy or streaky when I’m applying the Seche colors.

      1. I was wondering if they are meant to dry super fast because I don’t think that they dry like Seche Vite fast but faster than some of my other polishes. I never polish my nails near a fan or ac draft but they still give me some trouble. I can admit to being a slow polisher, though. Maybe that’s my problem. ha!

    2. I think I got ripped off because I know I paid more than $3.50!!! lol That’s what I get for going on these binges because I just grab tons of stuff and don’t even bother to ask about prices. That’s really bad. 🙁

  5. OH GOD we are the same! My brother and I have an 8 year gap and I used to play pranks on him all the time… but I was really mean. I feel like I was old enough, when he was born, to cause trouble but not old enough to understand the consequences of my actions… le sigh. As for the polish, I LOVE it on you. You have a great skin tone to pull off those kinds of colors. (I used to date a Samoan guy and always thought he looked super hot in pink.)
Im on the hunt for a lighter colored hot pink… but so far no luck. Let me know if you have any suggestions, I’ll look them up

    1. Well, let me tell you that I nearly killed my brother once because one of my pranks was so incredibly stupid, and I was definitely old enough to think of the consequences. He was running around with a sheet tucked into his shirt collar and he was pretending to be superman. Every time he ran by me, I would step on the sheet and it would slip out of his shirt and he would get mad. So then I decided to tie the sheet around his neck and….I know…I can barely write this. So he ran by again and I stepped on the sheet. He flew backwards and hit his head on this huge potted plant thing that my mom had and it literally knocked him out for a good minute. I freaked out because I thought I had killed him or something. I can’t explain why I did that and why it didn’t dawn on me how badly he could have gotten hurt. Every time he doesn’t something stupid, I tell him that maybe he got brain damage from that “accident.” At least I can laugh about it now but that was probably the single scariest moment involving my brother…ever.

      1. I once made a slip and slide out of garbage bags and nails… we even has a normal slip and slide, I dont know why I insisted on making one… anywho my brother wouldnt do it cause he didnt know how so I showed him by going first. well my knee caught on one of the nails I used to stick the thing to the ground and I STILL have the scar running up my leg. Im thankful I went first, my mother would have killed me if the prodigy son got a gash like that!

  6. That is HILARIOUS you let your brother think his head was going to explode!! The worst I did was dress my brother in a dress, make him wear a raggedy ann wig and pretend to shave his legs while I took pictures. Now that I think about it it sounds pretty kinky and sick so uh… what I meant to say is that I have a FRIEND who did that to HER brother. This color is really pretty even though I’m not a lover of pink, if I saw it I might grab it cuz it’s just so vibrant.
