Sation Periwinkle Princess

My fellow nail polish addict Nicole has really been diggin’ glitter lately judging by her recent posts. Of course I had to give her a hard time because I am so not a glitter person. Despite how many times I have written those words here, I continue to buy glitter nail polish sporadically. Why? That is the nature of a true nail polish addict. I had previously posted about the re-vamped Sation polishes and had also teased Nicole about the awesome glitter I had purchased. I couldn’t decide what base color to use so I just went with a safe color by Essie: Nice Is Nice.

I then applied a couple of coats of Periwinkle Princess.

The main thing that attracted me to this polish was the bar glitter because I don’t have many bar glitter polishes. I found that the bar glitter was a little difficult to manipulate and there doesn’t seem to be that much of it in the polish. However, I did like the effect once I got it on my nails. It’s hard to capture how this looks in person but it really is pretty. Here is my one glitter comment: it was not a pain to remove! I was in shock. Never thought you’d hear that from me, right? Well, now you heard it.

So what do you think of this glitter? Does it look like something you’d wear? How would you wear it differently?

  1. I go through phases of liking glitter polish and then hating it. I think the hating part usually comes after I remember what a pain in the arse it is to remove! I'm so impressed that this glitter isn't like that though – and it looks GORGEOUS.

    1. I like to think that I go through phases too but I think I'm just a glitter hater. I really like the way it looks on other people but I am so annoyed with how hard it is to remove. I don't know if it's a fluke, but I was super surprised that this polish was not crazy hard to remove. I'll probably wear it again.

  2. Your posts always leave me with one big chuckle. Yesterday it was the vodka; today it is, "That is the nature of a true nail polish addict."
I have lots of glitters, but I am not exactly sure why. It must be, "OOO…sparkly…pretty…me buy!" In reality for me, they are not really appropriate for work (I can get away with it in most day-to-day cases, but try not to have crazy nails when visiting with customers), and I find they chip so heavily (if I do just the glitter) that I get annoyed by putting in the manicure effort and then having it chip. I also don't like when they dry dull and/or gritty. I'm OK with the removal process…I generally don't use them in succession and therefore know what I am getting into. I guess my best bet is to use them like you just did, layered over another polish.

    1. I also have shiny ball syndrome. I get so fixated on glitter stuff because it looks so pretty and I just want that glittery shiny look on my nails. Then I get it on my nails and remove it…and I want to chop my fingers off. I use pure acetone and sometimes do the foil method but that's so harsh on my nails. 🙁

Glad my weirdness is amusing. lol I even amuse myself sometimes. 🙂

  4. You KNOW i love glitter polish. And bar glitter really is easy to remove! But i am not sold on it completely because it looks so hairy haha even so, i do still have bar glitters lol

    1. OMG lol Hairy? I never thought of bar glitter as looking hairy. Thanks a lot…now I'm going to be thinking of hairy nails if I wear this again! I do like your connect the dots one, though.

  6. I like the Essie polish all by itself – but that's just me, especially since I'm obsesses with pale pink nude nails. I totally agree about the glitters. I really don't wear them that much so they definitely need to be on the cheap side if I'm getting them. I kinda want to try the Nails, Inc. duo on sale at Sephora. It's a pretty good deal – $10 for the set.

    1. I knew you'd like the Essie…it's very neutral. 🙂

Is there a glitter nails inc set at Sephora? Oohhhh! I got the set with the flaky top coat and really liked it. Their special effects glitter polishes are pretty but I won't pay those prices for glitter.

  9. Wowwwww not bad to remove?! That's some kind of miracle!! Haha. Maybe it wasn't had cuz it was so sparse. Usually bar glitter is the worst!! Oh and you'll be pissed to know I have more glitter posts coming up next week! Haha. I got some new ones which I mentioned before and pirouette your whistle!

    1. I think I am going to give another chance to the whole NYC Ballet collection. I just keep seeing how pretty they look on other blogs and I'm wondering if I just made them look ugly on purpose cause I was hating on them before I even bought them. lol

      AHHHHHHHH! You and your glitters.
