Sation Miss Emo Shun All

I’m still trying to figure out what the name of this polish means. At first I thought it was like an Emo girl who shuns everything/everyone and then I thought it just meant Miss Emotional.   Of course this could just be ambiguous on purpose to drive people like me crazy. Which one do you think fits better?

Well, whatever the case may be, this color is gorgeous. I think it might be a dupe for Color Club Disco Dress. They are both really bright purples and they have that really pretty satin finish. Why can’t there be more satin finish polishes? I really wasn’t expecting this to be a satin so it was a nice surprise. Besides, I can always put a top coat on it if I want a super shiny mani with this color.

I used three thin coats for this manicure. I guess that you could get away with two thick coats, but I always prefer to do thin coats for a faster drying time. After the second coat, it was rather opaque but I noticed that I could see some slight bald spots when I went outside so I applied a third coat to even out the coverage.

I’m a konad maniac even though I have been neglecting all my stamping stuff. I seriously used to konad at least every other day, but maybe I got sick of it. I am really interested in seeing the new Bundle Monster plates before I purchase them, so I’m going to wait and see some of the designs my fellow stamping friend, Nicole, uses on her blog first. Who am I kidding? It’s just a matter of time before I cave and get them too.

So how do you like Miss Emo Shun All? Do you like to use konad to spruce up your nails?

I hope you’re having a good weekend so far!

    1. Total dupe! Same finish and all. I think the formulas are pretty much the same so it just comes down to personal preference. Another reason why I should have my swatch wheels every time I go shopping for polish! lol That would be a whole lot of wheels.

      1. Man, I've got id skills! I know what you mean about duping colors you already have, there are so many colors I want that I'm just not sure of for that very reason. Essie Mesmerize, for example, I want it but I SWEAR I have something to dupe it already. One of these days when I get my collection completely organized I'll post my swatch sticks… its a lot.

        1. I have swatch sticks. I started to do that when I had about 200 nail polishes. I got these really awesome swatch sticks with stands and then I swatched the colors and did labels for them and everything. And now I'm at 500 bottles and I have kind of given up on doing that….it's too much!!!

Not to be an enabler, but Mesmerize is amazing and the formula can't be beat. I have a few similar colors but I still like Mesmerize the best.

  1. It is a nice colour, not sure about the satin finish, I think I would probably top coat it!

I love stamping my nails. I am not very good at it however and I really need to work on getting some super pigmented polishes for it. I never seem to be able to find a full nail stamp that actually fits my full nail? I don't know if my nails are too long or what.

    1. I think a lot of people aren't too much into the finish. I think Orly put out a Plastix collection of all satin finishes that I still haven't picked up…it's not new, but I'm sure it's still floating around. I think Illamasqua also has satin/rubber finish polishes that I would like to try.

Isn't stamping great? It's such an easy way to spruce up your nails. A lot of nail designs don't cover my whole nail either which is super annoying. I only have konad plates and a majority of them fit ok but my nails are so wide that it's hard to get the stamp to cover everything. A friend of mine has some generic plates and those are so tiny that I can't use them at all. They are like made for children or something!

  2. I'm trying to keep this concise:
    1. Emo shun all makes sense to me- like those annoying melodramatic people who are like "I have no true friends!!" and you're sitting right there like "uh.. what am I?!" I hate those people. If you say that to me… guess what? You HAD at least ONE, till now. Who knows what they meant tho… I don't even care- this is a dang pretty color!!
    2. Your houndstooth design looks awesome. I love that pattern.
    3. BUY THE NEW STAMPS!! NOWWWW!!!! I got mine in the mail today and I'm so excited. I was going to do a post of all the plates but you can just see them on the website so I decided no one needs me to do that. They're awesome. My plate BM309 had a scratch, I emailed them this evening and they already got back to me saying they'd send another plate and I didn't have to send back the bad one. Although they said "consider it a gift" which was weird cuz who wants a defective plate as a gift? Oh well, it has a couple owl stamps on it that still work so I guess I can use those in the mean time. I just used a paisley stamp over my ChG Jungle Queen nails and it worked perfectly. The print is so delicate I was worried it wouldn't work… worked like a charm!!! I am seriously SOOO hyped to use all the stamps. I see you have the konad with houndstooth but I don't, and this collection has a houndstooth design!!! Prepare for stamp-a-palooza! I gotta swatch desert sun and I herd that, too tho… so we'll see how I can squeeze those in.
    The End.

    1. Omg you crack me up. Uhm, thanks for the damaged gift? That was a weird thing for them to say. I'm glad they seem to have pretty good CS. I think houndstooth is one of my favorite patterns for nails.

I can't wait to see your stamping….you know how to do it really well and it always turns out!! I have problems whenever I don't use the special polish. 🙁

I'm trying to be good, but I know I will cave once you start posting all your lovely stamps.

      1. I used the konad for my first attempt and now I’m wearing desert sun and am going to do the matching glitter “i herd that” over it… but what I really wanna do is stamp till my eyes go blurry! haha. In a few days it oughtta be mostly stamped nails for a while. Good bad or ugly, that’s gonna be how it is 😉 PS: If you were on Twitter I’d tweet you a pic of the paisley nails I did… hint hint hint hint hint 😀

  5. Emo, huh? I think it's emo like the first pic. "Im so friggin' deep and you just don't understand. You're too shallow to understand." So, this makes this color a lovely goth purple ^_^ Makes me want to take pictures of grave markers, because life means nothing and you don't understand!! *snicker*

    1. LOL…poor emos. I don't think that was part of my generation…so what was part of my generation? Grunge….ugh! I was watching a Nirvana documentary and I had forgotten how much I loved them.

  6. I think they probably intended "emotional," but the break-down of emo shun all is more entertaining to me.
I am on the fence about the satin finish. I think it would bug me. I guess I just like shiny finishes!
Loving the houndstooth stamp, though. I actually have that one…I'm just too lame to learn how to Konad.
You're acknowledging the eventual purchase of the bundle monster plates! Progress from last week's "no more until I try my untrieds" fail!

    1. Yeah, I’m a failure that way and I proudly announce it. Stamping is so easy….you just have to try it and be prepared to ruin a few manicures before you feel totally comfortable.

I’m finding that the names of the polishes in this particular collection are pretty freaking funny.
