Sation Board Girl Blue

Wednesdays are fun for me because I don’t have to go to work, but at the same time I feel like I don’t truly enjoy my day since I’m just dreading that I have to go back to work on Thursday. Oh well, nothing can be perfect, right? Today is such a weird weather day since it was really hot the last few days and today is overcast and it has been sprinkling all day. Damn you, crazy California weather! This is the kind of weather that ends up making me get sick so I’m trying to just relax and not get too worried about it. I’ve actually been doing some cleaning all day so at least that has been relaxing. Since the weather was so summer-like in the last few weeks, I decided to look through my summer colors from last year and I stumbled upon Sation Board Girl Blue. I previously reviewed this polish last summer, and I kind of cringe at the quality of my pictures. I hope that I have learned a little about how to improve my pictures since then! I still love this color so much, and I can’t stop thinking about one of my favorite silly movies: Blue Crush. Yes, I know…it’s dumb, but it’s soooooo entertaining. hahaha Anyway, let me show you some swatches of Sation Board Girl Blue.

I’m going gaga about how beautiful and vibrant this color is. The formula remains the same: smooth, highly pigmented and glossy. If you’re not too familiar with the Sation polish line, you are definitely missing out. In fact, for those of you who are subscribed to Ipsy, a Sation nail polish was included in the last bag. How cool! I love that more people are getting the opportunity to try Miss Professional Nail–especially if it’s hard to find their polishes where you live.

I had mentioned earlier that I was reminded of Blue Crush (which is a surfer girl movie) when I wore this polish so I decided to stamp over it. This funky circle pattern from Winstonia Plate W112 ended up reminding me of bubbles in a way! How appropriate.  Let me know what you think about this color and how it looks with this stamping design. Thank so much for stopping by to catch up with me today–have a great day, and I will talk to you soon!

I think that Mesmerize is way darker than Board Girl Blue. This one has an acqua quality to it while Mesmerize is more of a vibrant darker blue. After I stamped, I also thought that I probably could have done this with a dotting tool but you’re right…it probably would have taken me forever. hahaha

Ha! Blue Crush, perfect. I love that color though, and seriously how do you get your stamps so clean looking? I bow to your greatness lol.

You are so funny, Tami. You know, when I started stamping, I always rolled the stamp but then I noticed I was smudging everything. Now I just try to line up the stamp and I just press down hard and I think it comes out pretty well. You just have to practice and figure out what works best for your nails.

That color is awesome beautiful! And those stamps? I only wish I had an extra pair of hands to do mine. Somehow it ends up looking horrible on my non-dominant hand.

It just takes practice. Some stamps are more forgiving than others. I think this one is pretty forgiving so even if you don’t get it just right, it will still look pretty good. :)

I love your mani both ways, but especially Blue Crush on its own. I feel like I just wanna dive into that polish it looks so creamy and smooth. I’m also drooling over your perfect cuticles and clean up job!

I think that on my first post about this polish, I wrote it was too pretty to stamp over but this time around I just stamped the heck out of it. I actually wore this to work one day and no one said anything. I was thinking it might be too flashy but I guess I was wrong. Certain days, my cuticles look great and other times I really have to work the crap out of them to get them to look decent. Ahh…the troubles of us nail bloggers.

I thought I’d seen this color before but I was like well…. maybe not! It’s super pretty! I can’t believe I ever only had a couple of blues. I think I might have as many blues now as any other color. I love blues and greens and any combination of the two. An oranges. And yellows. And lots of other colors so… never mind. Anyway I like the stamping just fine but that stamp always makes me think of mushrooms. And not like little mushrooms but like huge toadstool mushrooms w gnomes living under them with their tall pointy hats, and their frogs sitting next to them cuz I’m imagining they ride frogs like super bumpy horses. Anyway- looks good tho!

“I’ve actually been doing some cleaning all day so at least that has been relaxing.” Hahaha…oh, Cynthia! ;p
Oh, you and your Blue Crush! ;) I used to work with a girl in college who had the same fondness for it, so I think it’s kinda cute. ;) I will always think of you and this movie when I see any references to this color. I think this is a fitting “Blue Crush” mani! ;)
