RGB Haze

It’s about time I use this nail polish. I think that because it was associated with the whole SpaRitual/Beauty.com debacle a couple of months ago, I wanted to give myself some time to forget how they sent me empty nail polish boxes twice! I’m still wondering how that even happened. Eventually, I ended up getting the nail polish set and they refunded my money for all the aggravation. This is my first experience with RGB and I’m not really blown away. It’s a pretty color, but the formula seemed kind of strange: it was kind of streaky and goopy. At $16 for .40 oz, I guess I was expecting something better. I don’t know if I just got an off bottle because I’ve heard a lot of great things about RGB. It’s too bad because these are the colors I enjoy the most: dusty, smoky and PURPLE!!!

I haven’t used this design from Konad plate M73 in a while, but I really love it. This Wet N Wild silver polish called I Can’t Stand Up Straight is my favorite silver polish to use for stamping.

I decided to build a better lightbox today so I went out to purchase some posterboard. While I was at Dollar Tree, I saw packages of Big League Chew. Remember that stuff? It’s like little shredded strips of bubble gum that gave kids the impression that they were using chewing tobacco like their favorite baseball players. That stuff is almost as bad at the gum cigarettes that had a powder in them that you could suck and then blow out…like you were really smoking…at 5 years old. WTF? Anyway, it took me so long to build the darn thing, but I refuse to pay for one because they are super pricey.  For you ladies who are also nail bloggers, do you use a lightbox? I’ve been using mine a lot more lately which is why I decided to make a new and bigger one.

Today I chopped off my nails down to the nub so I’m going to lay off the nail polish for maybe a week and just work on hydrating my skin and cuticles.  I have a stockpile of pictures so I’ll still be posting regularly. Don’t worry…I know you’d die without my random nail/life ramblings. 😉 I am also putting myself on a no-buy. Yeah, yeah…laugh it up. I know I’ve said that before but I really need to tone it down a bit. I’m inching closer and closer to 600 bottles and I just can’t outgrow three melmers…I can’t!  The last time I put myself on a no-buy, this happened. Yeah. I will say that I will get the China Glaze New Bohemian duochromes…no  mater what. I think I am over the idea of getting the Essie Mirror Metallics because I know that I won’t use them too often so at least I’ll save some moola on that end.

And lastly, my giveaway for the Saved By The Bell nail polish collection is ending in a couple of days so don’t forget to enter. Today I went back to my lucky dusty and purchased a couple more bottles of the OPI DS linear holos for a future giveaway. I’m really enjoying all the new ladies who are stopping by and interacting on my posts so I want to make sure I thank you all by sharing some of the polish love. These are the two polishes I bought for future giveaways.

Thanks for reading, ladies, and have a nice Wednesday!

    1. Yeah…it's soooo disappointing when pricey polish is a dud. 🙁 I do like the color on its own, though…and with the stamp so I'll probably use it again.

  1. I like the neutrals that aren't quite neutral and this fits the bill. And that little bit of shimmer adds something special, doesn't it?

    1. Yes! I think it was a little dull. I don't know what I was expecting when it's named haze! I still like it, though…just wish the formula cooperated more. I agree that the shimmer helps it out a lot. 🙂

        1. Yes! That happens a lot even with Konad and their designs are usually wide. I have always rolled the stamp and now I'm trying to really stamp it down with a lot of pressure. I think it's my special polishes that aren't as thick as they're supposed to be.

  2. I'm not too crazy about the polish color itself. From my phone it seems kind of muddy. BUT, I do like the color with that Konad design and silver polish. For some reason when I saw the two together my first thought was a wedding gift bag. O_o

A polish no-buy…hahaha. I would believe a slow down on polish purchases would be more believable. 🙂 Just messing with you. You have polishes in your stash to share with us a gazillion stampings and polish combo designs.

I really like the OPI designer polishes. I need to visit you to explore you nail shops, you are finding such great treasures.

    1. OMG…I totally see a wedding gift bag now. LOL Thanks a lot! It does have that muddy look to it but I think I still like it. I'd like it more if the formula was better. I'll probably still use it, but I wasn't too impressed.

So…yeah, you were right. The no-buy is gone with the wind. I just bought some a-england polishes (my first) because they were almost 50% off and free shipping…how could I resist? But I will not be going to my nail places for a couple of weeks so that will definitely be a cut-back.

You do! If I win the lottery (ok, when I win the lottery), I will organize a shopping trip for all the ladies on PWRC. That would be a scary sight…lol

      1. A PWRC shopping adventure would be out of this world. Your nail shops, Sephora, Ulta and CVS wouldn't know what hit them. LMAO

  3. Of course you should be expecting something better for $16!!!

I don't know why, but I rather buy cheap polishes..! So I can buy more.. right now I have 50 polishes, and I'm in my NO-BUY period, since I'm going to my trip. I think I'm going to order everything so it arrives to the hotel when I'm there..!
    I can't help myself.. I'm a shopaholic. =:::::(

    1. I buy tons of cheap polishes too. I don't think that a high price always means high quality. Sometimes I just want to try different brands to see if they are worth the higher price. This one was definitely NOT.

Sinful Colors is going on sale here for $.99 so I'm going to check them out for sure. Who can say no to that price????

  4. Aah, I was writing a comment and I somehow scrolled back to the last page & lost it!
I'm kind of 'meh' on this color. I like it better with the stamp, but it's lacking a little oomph to me. I think the WnW polish name is funny, though!
Yes, I remember Big League Chew, from when I was a really little kid in Jersey. We had neighbors with a daughter named Kendra and she was a little older than me so I thought she was really cool and I remember having it at her house.
Wow, a nail haitus! I am kind of on one, too, but not exactly on purpose. I manicured my nails on Thursday, but they've been naked since the same evening's failed Metallics episode. Of course now they're breaking because I don't have polish on! I'm planning on doing them again this weekend.
Glad the giveaway is turning out so successful for you!

    1. I think that has been the general consensus…this color is nothing special. I was actually expecting to like it a lot more. I am on the hunt for the perfect smoky purple/greige for my skintone. I still haven't found it. 🙁

Since I cut my nails so short, I am going to keep my nails polish free until they grow a bit and I can square them a bit. Btw, I'm still waiting for you to start a blog!!!

  6. It needs to be MORE purple. Like Pirates of the Carribean "Planks a Lot". This is too dusty somehow. Dusty is okay, but this looks like the 'dust' overpowered the color. If that makes sense… Shame it cost so much…

    1. I actually am looking for a very dusty purple but this wasn't it. I think Planks A Lot looks really bright on me for some reason. Yeah, the price hurts a little but you live, you learn. 🙂

  8. I like this color, and I like it on you, but I can't say that it is worth the price tag for me. And I like the stamping plate you used, I don't have any actual Konad plates or polish but constantly think of getting my hands on some. But then I end up distracted by something pretty and buy it instead. 🙂

I'm right around 400 bottles or so and filled up the helmer I bought the moment I assembled it. Looks like I need to make another trip to West Covina.

    1. I totally agree that it's not worth the price tag. I could have bought 2-3 much more interesting polishes with that money! You should get some konad plates…I think they are totally worth it. I am going to try to get my plates organized in those baseball card holder things.

I will be kind of upset with myself if I outgrow three melmers…I just can't do it. I know I have polish that I don't like so much or use much for that matter, but I don't want to get rid of it! Ugh! I need help.
