Let me ask you something: do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? Personally, I think that I am rather outgoing and talkative but it seems that when people first meet me, they think the complete opposite. They think I’m quiet and maybe a little mean. Me?! Mean?!?!?!?! Ok, maybe I am a little blunt at times which can be misconstrued as maybe being mean? Then once people get to know me, they always say: “I thought you were totally different when I first met you!” In fact, one of my best friends told me that he thought I was a total bitch when he first met me. Sixteen years later we are still great friends and it was his birthday yesterday so happy birthday again, Daniel! You’re old!

Anyway, the reason why I was thinking about this is because we had to take a personality test at work and I just found it completely bogus. If you’ve ever taken one of those tests, you probably know what I’m talking about. In fact, I can liken it to getting your palm read because they throw out so much information that can pretty much apply to anyone in a weird roundabout way. Anyway, enough about dumb work stuff and on to the polish adoration!

Today I have the Nicole by OPI Gumdrops Collection. Hey, now….don’t groan about yet another sugared texture collection!  I haven’t quite had my fill of these textured confectioned polishes especially when they are super glittery and chunky. Since the formula on all of the polishes in this collection is the same, I’ll talk about it here: the formula on all of them is pretty great. I found them very easy to apply because the formula was very pigmented and dried super fast. I applied two coats for all my swatches and that gave me great coverage. Let’s take a look at them, shall we?

A-nice Treat

Overall, I liked this collection. I think that I was super excited about the chunky glitter in Candy Is Dandy and I Lilac Gumdrops, but the rest were the fine glittered texture. I feel that the colors in this collection are similar to a lot of other sugared/textured polishes that we have seen this year, but if you haven’t picked any of those up, I think these are a good option.

This limited edition collection will be available beginning May 2013 for $7.99 each at retailers including select Walmart (May 2013), CVS (June 2013), Rite Aid, Kmart, Kroger, Ulta, H-E-B, and Duane Reade locations (August 2013), In Canada, these shades wil be available for $10.99 each at Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart Canada (July 2013), Jean Coutu, Loblaw, and London Drug (August 2013).

So what do you think? Yay or nay? Have you had your fill of textured polishes yet? Thank so much for stopping by and I will talk to you soon!

    1. I totally know what you mean. I think a lot of the colors are kinda the same colors we have seen from other brands…if I hadn’t gotten my hands on almost every single textured collection out there so far, I’d probably think these were awesome. I do think the formula on them is pretty good compared to others I have tried.

        1. No, I haven’t even seen those yet! I rarely purchase SH except for all my cuticle stuff. I’ll probably check the out the next time I go to CVS/Rite-Aid/Walgreens. Now I’m super curious!

  1. I totally agree that personality tests are bogus. They are just like any other test that depends on the amount of distraction or state of being a person has or is in that affects testing outcomes. Ironically, I took the HumanMetrics personality test two days ago and mid-way through the test I lost interest and was randomly picking selections or reading half of the question. Bogus!

Anyway, I do not will not have my fill on textured polishes, or let me clarify, only filled on select brands. I love the blue, black and cinnamon colored polishes in this group.

    1. I forget what particular test I took but it was pretty lame. I am going to put up my results and dissect them in a future post. hahaha

I think the blue and the cinnamon ones are my favorites for their color but I do like the two first colors with the chunky glitter.

  2. I really like A-nice treat because its black and sparkly/silvery. It would be a really nice base for some nail art too probably. Now I kinda really want it….I think in all the bright summery colors all over the freakin place I’m revolting to darker shades.
I hate personality tests so much, especially when they are so freaking long and they ask you the same questions in different formats just to see if they can trip you up if you’re lying. I wont apply to jobs anymore if they require those tests to apply. Such a waste of time.
I’m a total introvert, I hate people so much lol. I pretty much dislike you before I like you. I’m fully expecting to be one of those really cranky bitchy old ladies who curses at everyone and beats people with her walker. I accept that…
🙂 On the other hand with the select few people I accept into my special bubble and am comfortable with I can be more of an extrovert.

  3. i like the black one,, i think i haven’t seen black textured polishes.. but i could be wrong you know..
since the crackled polishes went out so fast, i dont want to spend my money in that kind of polishes.. because i feel that ONE polish is not enough. i need to have like all the colors but then i’ll spend a lot of money and won’t use them like never again.. do you know how it feels? i dont wanna spend much… LOL..

regarding my personality, i think i’m weird.. i used to be extroverted and had a lot of friends, but after i got married i was like YAY now i can be the hater i love to be because i wont be alone.. so i became more selective with my friends,, i rather spend time hanging with jorge than going out.. LOL i’m just too lazy to be “social”..

    1. Maybe I’m lying to myself but I feel I’m very friendly and animated but I think it takes me a while to warm up to people–more than I think since people usually think I’m all serious until we become friends and they realize how crazy I am. I guess we all have a little bit of everything in our personalities but I think I am definitely VERY selective about friends and who I really trust. Ever since I got the crap job, I feel like I never want to do anything besides sit at home and do my nails. hahaha

You are right about these polish trends, though. Once you get one, you want them all and then they are gone in the blink of an eye. I’m just glad I never got that obsessed with crackle.

      1. I have like 8 or 9 different colors.. and i haven’t used them almost in a year..!!

at least you feel like doing your nails, lately, i’ve been to lazy to even do my nails and it is a shame because i enjoy doing it, but i don’t enjoy ordenar todo de vuelta.

i should train Bella so she can ordenarlo todo after i finish my artwork LOL

    1. I had to go double check if I had written China man in my post! lol I was confused for a bit and I was like: I didn’t write about a Chinese man, did I? hahahaha But yes, it’s a great color.

    1. You have good taste! I keep trying to decide which ones I love best and I can’t make up my mind every time someone comments. LOL

    1. I think there have been a few minty textured polishes but not any that I say I would HAVE TO HAVE. I do think this trend is on its way out, though.

  4. I already told you on Twitter, but I just CAN’T with the personality test. I think they’re all a crock, anyway…I’m sure my results would be the opposite of how I perceive myself.
However, I DO just love Stevie Wonder! I totally remember playing “I Just Called To Say I Love You” at a 5th grade concert, hahaha.
I like these, but agree that the colors are similar to a lot of others that are out there. I like the textured trend more than I thought I would, but am glad I haven’t overloaded on them.

    1. I was doing a Stevie Wonder impersonation today because I was given these huge black glasses to wear after getting my eyes dilated–you can only imagine how that went and I was singing “I Just Called To Say I Love You.” hahahahaha

Yes, they are great colors in a nice little cohesive collection–just not that revolutionary.
