New Cult Nails Babies

Since I’m trying to go through all my untrieds before I allow myself to buy more bottles of nail polish, I pulled out the the last three Cult Nails polishes that I purchased during their last $5 sale. Yeah, I can hear you laughing at the idea of me not buying anything until I go through my untrieds….I’m looking at you Nicole and Lesley. To be honest, I doubt I’m going to stick to it but I resisted the urge to go to my nail places today. I’m going to wait until my crack dealer tells me that he has the new Essie collection in before I drag my butt out there. I think I’m getting better at using my new camera so I hope these pictures at least seem of better quality. You be the judge.

Let Me Fly is the color that I was most looking forward to trying out, and it did not disappoint. This color has more green in it so I don’t know why it photographed so blue. The color is amazing and the formula flowed like butter. It only needed two coats which I love.

I hadn’t heard anyone complain about the new Iconic so I didn’t go in with any preconceived notions. I love this polish. What is not to like about a smouldering magenta/red/brown/copper/gold polish with awesome flakes? This is another one of those polishes that look like they are on fire–yes, it’s that dramatic.

And lastly, I also purchased Hypnotize Me. I am pretty sure this is a polish that is meant for layering because it looks kind of weird on its own. I had to apply 3 coats for these swatches and the formula was so incredibly goopy and hard to control. Despite it being a glitter, it was not difficult to remove and did not dry super gritty. Once I applied a coat of Seche, it was perfectly smooth.

Once again, Cult Nails impresses me with beautiful colors. I’m eyeing their new collection now…ooohhh….so many pretties. Are you also a fan of Cult Nails? Do you have a favorite color to recommend for my next purchase?

  1. Completely OT, but the next time I come to LA you have to tell me where you pick up Jessica's on the cheap! I still haven't braved Vegas's Chinatown yet to snoop for goodies.

Good color choices on your Cult Nails, they're very pretty!

  2. Called out in a blog post! I feel amused and special!
I like these colors. I have Iconic & Hypnotize Me. Hypnotize Me is meant for layering…I think it was released with a teal cream. Try it over one that Sation polish you posted in that type of color…it will look amazeballs.
I'm pretty sure I already wrote out how absurdly many Cult Nails polishes I have in another post. They are all great…can't really go wrong!

    1. You should cause you are special! Oooohhhh that is a good idea about pairing it with the teal sation. You do have an enviable cult nails collection for sure. Now you just have to try them all!!!!

    1. LOL…omg I nearly choked on my coffee with the "buy me puta" comment. You are crazy. LMAO I think they are totally worth it and I love that I'm supporting a blogger! πŸ™‚ The quality is awesome.

  6. I don't even laugh anymore… you say you're not gonna buy polish and I just wait for the next post where you empty a giant bag and a billion polishes magically fall out! I love seeing all your new finds, I don't have enough money to fall off the no-buy or low-buy bandwagon in the same fashion as you so I like to live vicariously. ;p This may be an unpopular opinion but I don't like that Iconic polish. Idk why exactly, maybe just cuz it looks like the polish my mom has worn as long as I can remember so it's kinda boring to me. From your description though it sounds like a little of it's magnificence is lost in the photo so I'll talk your word for it. πŸ™‚ I'm sad about Hypnotize me… that's the one I THOUGHT I was gonna like the most but yeah- it looks way too sheer to wear alone. Darn. πŸ™ I'm a Cult fan for sure, but can't always afford to pre-order the collections which is what I'd LOVE to do. I just like supporting a blogger, like you said, and I just like how she's so personal and everything. πŸ™‚

    1. I think you really do have to see it in person. If your mom has been wearing something similar for a long time, she was probably very chic! πŸ™‚ I think hypnotize me will come to life with an interesting creme underneath. I can't wait to try it out.

I haven't purchased any polishes at full price yet so I'll keep stocking up when they have sales. Once I have a steady income coming in, well….that will be a different story. Oh man…nail polish is going to lead me to straight to hell. lol

      1. nah… just to the poor house! ;p just kiddinggggg! When I get a full time job (my summer job is only about 4 hrs a day) then I, too, will be swimming in polish πŸ˜‰
