My Last Orders Came In & Puppy News

I was anxiously waiting for my last couple of orders to come in from Cult Nails and from the Beauty.com friends and family sale. Finally, I got everything and I couldn’t wait to try my new polishes. Look how pretty everything is:

I purchased these three during the last Cult Nails sale. Woo hoo for sales. The colors are: Iconic, Hypnotize Me and Let Me Fly.

This is my first RGB polish so I am excited to see what the formula and wear are like. This shade is Haze.

This SpaRitual Holiday set is really pretty. Just look at the pretty gold box. I am a sucker for packaging so I really loved this set.

Until I opened up the box….

Where are the polishes?????? Hahaha…this was such a wah wah moment that I wish you could have seen my face. Since I was in a crazy good mood for reasons I will go into shortly, I wasn’t super annoyed. I called up Beauty.com and explained to them that I received an empty box. The CSR sounded a little incredulous but he didn’t give me any grief about it or anything. He just re-ordered the set for me. Hopefully the polishes will be in the box this time.

So for my puppy news: I was going to put down a deposit for my pup pup and the breeder informed me that he was no longer available. Waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh! My heart sank. Then she told me that she did have an older puppy that had been on hold for a buyer who later changed his mind. So this is the pup that I’m going to go meet this weekend!!!! He’s 4.5 months old and absolutely adorable. I can’t wait to meet him.

And just for reference, this is a picture of the puppy’s dad so I can get an idea of what my pup will look like when he’s older.

I am sure that I won’t be able to sleep for the next couple of days until I get to go see my little Alfie. It’s finally happening. I’m getting my first dog at the ripe old age of 32. Wish me luck. 🙂

  1. Awww!!! Yodi was an older pup when I got him so it will be ok 🙂 he is so cute! And the father is gorgeous!

    1. Thanks Jess. I already feel like a proud dog mom. I just yelled at my mom that she has her first grand baby. I can't wait to see how my mom deals with the dog being here. Maybe that's how I'll get them to go back home. lol

  2. OOOOooooohhhh man…excitement on a stick!!!
Firstly: Cult Nails. They are AH-MAZE-ING (said in Kelly Kapoor voice)! I have loved every single one of her polishes. I just got an order myself, yesterday. I bought Devious Nature, Feel Me Up, Captivated, and Manipulative…all crazy gorge in person. I already have Awakening (untried), Enigmatic (untried), Hypnotize Me (untried), Iconic (untried), In a Trance (untried), Living Water (untried), Mind Control (untried), My Kind of Kool Aid (nice work color), Power Thief (another good work color), Quench (good God, one of my favorites ever, just the perfect red, wore it for my 30th birthday last summer), Time Traveler (untried), Clairvoyant (untried – this and TIme Traveler look SICK together), and Vicious (GREAT purple).
I have no experience with RGB, so, I'm curious to see your take!
LOL about the Spa Ritual situation! What a gorgeous box containing such a cruel disappointment. Glad it's getting resolved without too much hassle.
Now on to the Alfie. I am really invested in this, which may sound weird seeing as I just found your blog and we don't know one another, but I will try to tell you (somewhat) briefly why. I adopted my dog (he was 5 at the time) from a rescue organization 3 months after I graduated college and I just lost him a little over a month ago. It was really sudden – he had just been to the vet for a clean bill of health on a Friday and literally the following Monday night shit randomly got real and the next morning was it – he had cancer in his spleen that had spread all over his lungs and he was just failing and I didn't have much choice. He was my everything – he had been through all of my adult life with me – various moves, boyfriends, family stuff, you name it. Right now I am in whatever stage of grief is "angry"…I feel like he should have had 2-3 more years and this was not how it was supposed to go. I do have another dog I adopted two years ago (a little white Pekingnese who is 'tude-a-licious) and have acknowledged this is going to be really hard for a really long time, yadda, yadda, BUT: the main reason I mention all of this is that I KNEW your pup was going to look like him, and holy cannoli, he does. My guy was mostly gray with cream legs and some black on his face…he was a mutt, but probably some kind of schnauser or terrier. SO. Not to be Debbie Downer here, but that is why I am very interested in your Alfie search. Some sort of vicarious living, I suppose, but also, just knowing someone could have the relationship I had with Shaggy makes me very happy. So, GOOD LUCK, but in my experience, when you meet 'em, ya take 'em! 😉

    1. First of all, I am sooooo sorry to hear about your beloved Shaggy's passing. I can't even imagine how heartbreaking that is. It sounds like he was and still is a huge part of your life especially because he went through so many life changes with you. I like to think that when our pets pass, they are just happy that we gave them a good life and lots of love while they were here. I think Shaggy was very lucky to have you and you were lucky to have him. 🙂 That is so amazing that my pup has some resemblance to your Shaggy! And here we thought that nail polish is what brought you to my blog and in reality, maybe it was the dog connection. I'd like to think that, anyway.

Holy crap woman, you have a lot of untried Cult Nails. lol I only have 6 of them and my favorite has been My Kind of Kool Aid. I just love how neutral yet interesting it is. I had pretty much free reign to wear whatever crazy make up or nail polish I wanted but I stayed pretty neutral and appropriate anyway. I wonder what my next job will be like in that respect. I'm still giggling about the SpaRitual set. It seems so dumb and funny.

I seriously cracked up so hard with the Kelly ah-maze-ing. "I just bought some bikinis online: size 2. They're gonna look amazing!" "…and then Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, they had a baby too and they named it Shiloh. And both babies are amazing!" lmao I can't wait to see her new show on Fox…if only they hadn't given it such an unfortunate name. The Mindy Project? Seriously?

      1. Thanks, Cynthia. It's really sweet to receive support from someone I just 'met'. He had some personality, for sure, so I hope you're prepared for that! ;P I expect eleventy-million pictures over the weekend. Or maybe after the weekend – you're goonna be tired as a new doggie mom!
I met a very dear friend of mine through our dogs…we were neighbors in the same apt. complex and we'd see each other walking our dogs. Both of our guys have passed now (and we each adopted our little girls during our time in that apt. complex – we've both since moved), but our babies are why we met in the first place and we both feel like it was "meant to be." So it seems you understand that concept and I think that's great if it's true for us, as well!
I have a lot of untried everything! That's because I have a problem. But if there is one thing that the Interwebs have taught me, it's that there are others out there like me! My job is fairly lax about that stuff (day-to-day dress is super-casual), but I am the sales and marketing manager in an uber-conservative and boring industry, so I try to be responsible when attending trade events or meeting with customers. I'm excited to see what was supposed to be in the Spa Ritual set.
Hahaha…I was thinking of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie comment when I wrote that…"What's new with you?" "I just told you!" But you are right,:the bikinis! "You're shaking!" "LEAVE ME ALONE!"
I'm looking forward to the new show, too, but I agree, what a horrendous name! Have you read her book? It's on my Amazon wishlist, but hasn't magically been provided to me yet, haha. That's pretty much the only way my brother knows how to buy things for me, and my birthday's coming up in the summer, so maybe then…

  3. SpaRitual FAIL! lol at least cs didn't give you a hard time about replacing the order!

Your pup to be is soooo cute and so FLUFFY! I'm so happy for you that this has finally worked out.

    1. Yeah, super fail! lol I can't believe they did that but whatever. I know shit happens sometimes and since I'm on puppy cloud nine right now, I wasn't even annoyed.

Thank you so much! He does look super fluffy and soft. I can't wait to cuddle him.
