Jindie Nails Summer Chic Collection 2013

Friday is here! I’m a little jealous that most of you who are in the US are enjoying an extra long weekend due to the 4th of July holiday. Unfortunately, I worked today and will work tomorrow so poo to this company that doesn’t respect holidays. Anyway, I can be bitter about it but it won’t do me any good so I’ll just keep amusing myself with pretty polishes. Today I’m super excited to be showing you 3 of the 5 polishes that are part of the Jindie Nails Summer Chic Collection!

Hex On The Beach 1

Hex On The Beach 2

Hex On The Beach 3

Hex On The Beach is one of those white crelly polishes that Jen does so well! I felt this one was a little difficult to work with because of the larger glitters. I had a hard time applying the glitter evenly until I added a few drops of thinner and stored the bottle upside down for a few minutes. I applied 3 coats here to get an even look on the milky base.

Quit Staring At My Melons 1

Quit Staring At My Melons 2

Quit Staring At My Melons 3

Quit Staring At My Melons! is a glitter topper extraordinaire. I kept thinking of cantaloupes when I saw this polish which is why I decided to go with a cantaloupe-colored polish. Now I’m obsessed with trying this out on a light green like the flesh of a honeydew melon. The glitter was super easy to apply and I got a nice even glitter distribution with one coat.

Don't Get Citrus Twisted 1

Don't Get Citrus Twisted 2

Don't Get Citrus Twisted 3

Don’t Get Citrus Twisted is my absolute favorite polish from this collection. In fact, it might just be my favorite Summer polish of 2013. I love the combination of the bright pastel green base, yellow, pink and green glitter. I swear I am absolutely obsessed with this polish. I applied 2 thick-ish coats here, and I felt the base was very pigmented and the glitter was easy to apply. Seriously–if there is one gorgeous summer polish that you must get, it’s this one.

The other two colors that I am missing from this collection are That Purple Ish and Betty’s Fetti Milkshake, and I will probably end up picking them up since I’m such a polish hoarder. I have a couple other Jindie babies to show you next week, and also get ready for a Jindie Nails giveaway coming soon. 1. Is it weird to be relieved when you don’t like a nail polish color? “Quit Staring” does nothing for me. Unfortunately, “Don’t Get Citrus Twisted” features my very favorite shade of green, and a lot of nice glitters… Darn it. 🙂 better add it to my wish list, I guess. Thanks for the swatches!

  2. Don’t get citrus twisted is by far my favorite. Hex on the beach looks nice but I don’t want to deal with the hassle and it looks too girly and too soft and I prefer a more in your face polish.

    1. Seriously…DGCT is the absolute best polish in this collection and I can’t get enough of it. It’s definitely bright and in your face.

  3. OMG. Just when I think I have enough specialty topcoats you post this. I told myself I wouldn’t buy anymore nail polish for a couple months, but I think you may come between me and my self control with this post. These are all so gorgeous <3

    1. I’m sorry for being such an enabler…ok, maybe not that sorry but I’m glad you love these as much as I do! I’ve never been able to really stick to a no-buy–I just fail miserably.

    1. Yes, it’s the must have polish from this collection in my opinion. I am so going to relax tomorrow….going to be a total bum now that I have all my posts for next week planned out.

  4. For some reason I really don’t care for hex on the beach… The white looks off-white to me, and idk… It’s just actually shockingly not wowing me. The bottom one tho- don’t get it citrus twisted is awesome. I love that green, I love the glitters in there… It’s just perfect. Very very pretty 🙂

    1. You and everyone else is in love with Don’t Get Citrus Twisted. lol I swear it’s like this amazing magical polish. I just can’t get enough of it.

  5. I think I agree with practically everyone else, don’t get citrus twisted is my favorite of the above. However, I’m pretty sure I will end up like Betty’s funfetti milkshake too 😛

  6. Is it wrong that I have already pre-ordered the entire collection?
    Except I got a full-sized bottle of Citrus–yum!

    1. I think I’m going to have to get the full-sized bottle too because it’s GORGEOUS!! I had a hard time not getting the whole collection but I bought so many other indies this week that I had to show some self-restraint.

  7. I love the names of these polishes, haha! So funny. My fav from above is Don’t Get Citrus Twisted. I also would love to see the Melon polish on top of other colors! Please show us when you do that 🙂

  8. These are all gorgeous! I was looking at Jindie’s yesterdya I just ordered a bunch of polishes and I don’t have any Jindies yet, I love the pink one and the green one the best!

  9. I worked the day after July 4th, too. *fart noise*
Hex on the Beach…nope, not for me (that’s what she said)! Quit Staring at My Melons gets bonus points for the name (that’s also what she said). I see why Don’t Get Citrus Twisted is the fave, but, eh, I don’t know…I’m meh on these.
