Hi everyone! Well, today was a rather putrid day at work so I’m just feeling completely blah. Nothing much is going on except that I am completely backed up when it comes to swatching my polishes. Just to give you an idea, this is just a small sampling of all the polishes I have lined up to be swatched.
Fun times, right? Not so much. I don’t like being so backed up so I really shouldn’t purchase so many bottles all at once, yet they are so pretty that I can’t help myself. They call out to me: “Cynthia! Buy me! Your nails need me!” And I fall for it every single time. Something sad happened to day. I got an alert last night from UPS My Choice telling me that I should expect a package to be delivered today. I was super excited since I hadn’t ordered anything recently so that meant it would be some of my favorite nail mail: PR Samples. Weeeeee! Well, look what arrived:
This is what happens when UPS thinks it’s ok to play stomp on the package. Womp womp! Oh well, I’m sad about it but there’s no use in crying over spilled polish. One bottle was completely broken and the other 3 are cracked so I decided not to mess with them because the last thing I need is to give myself a crazy cut. So after a craptacular day at work and this sad polish massacre, I decided to show you something pretty and cute: Dior Rosy Bow.
I’ve got to admit that while I definitely don’t like Dior prices ( $24 for a .33oz bottle!!), I am in love with the Dior formula and brush. There is no other brush that I love more than the Dior polish brush. It’s the perfect size, width and it fans out beautifully for even application. The formula on ever Dior polish that I have ever tried is absolutely flawless and Rosy Bow was no exception. This pink is so incredibly girlie and cute, yet I still fell in love with it. I know I’m a girl at heart no matter how much I try to deny it. hahaha!
So how has your day been? I hope it’s been better than mine. I am so glad to have tomorrow off so I can really build up my strength for Thursday’s impending shit storm. Oh well, such is life! Sorry for your crappy job but just so you know, your not alone. Yesterday or a couple of days ago, the hubs came to me and finally opened the discussion of our “long term goals” or “retirement.” Needless to say I was flabbergasted by his initiation since he lives day by day. Anyway, I mentioned to him how floored I’d be to change employers since my work week sucks Aztec.
The last expensive bottle of polish that I bought was the Opi Liquid Sands. I looked high and low for that dang polish and finally found it about twenty to thirty or so miles from my home, low and behold as soon as I get it home my husband accidentally drops it on the floor. I was soooo upset considering I paid ten bucks for the dang thing with nothing to show for it. Needless to say, I have never and will never pay that much for nail polish again.
To tell you the truth, it always freaks me out to think of the future since I’m financially unstable right now and have been for a few years. I am in my 30’s now and have no idea what I’m going to do when it’s time to retire…I’m screwed! lol
Ahh…about the polish. I would be so sad!!!! After all that trouble to have it break is just terrible. 🙁
Yikes! I’m sorry to hear about UPS smashing the bottles. Every time I order nail polish, I worry if it’ll arrive safely.
That Rosy Bow color is GORGEOUS!! I can’t believe that it’s $24 a bottle. A wee bit more than my budget will even allow.

Yes, the polish is definitely on the pricey side. I’m going to have to make sure I only get unique colors to sort of justify the price.
I’m sorry that happened 🙁 Getting broken polish in the mail stinks, especially after you waited for it! I had a Julep polish leak in transit. Luckily they have good customer service and I was able to get a replacement for no charge!
That polish is so pretty! I’ve been dying to try Dior! I always see it in Sephora, but my college student budget doesn’t have much room for anything but drug store polish xD
As for my day, I spent the latter half of it setting up my new art, and nail art blogs on tumblr xD I don’t have any followers yet, but hopefully I can gain a bit of popularity :3

I’ve been complaining about Julep because they have totally ignored all my attempts to get in touch with them. It’s ben very disappointing especially since I’ve had a handful of people sign up under me–I don’t want to refer people over to a company that ignores its customers. 🙁 I’m glad they responded to you, though. Ohh…congrats on setting up your new blogs! I’ll be sure to stop by. 🙂

I am also having tons of issues with my computers. Rather, my two laptops that aren’t that old and are both messed up. I did buy a desktop a few months ago but I just love the convenience of my laptops so much. What’s funny about this color is that I don’t really like soft pinks but this one really called to me.

Oh, no! It seems to happen a lot. UPS was tweeting me a lot when I was complaining about my delivery being late but as soon as I uploaded the damaged package, they said nothing. Figures! At least the Dior was pretty enough to make me forget for a little bit. 🙂
That really sucked about your polishes and about your shitty day overall but hey- at least tomrrow you’re off!! 🙂 Don’t think about Thursday until Thursday- there’s nothing you can do to prep for it anyway. I had a decent day today. I sat out in the sun a little, went shopping (2nd day in a row) for car seats and finally decided on a “travel system” which is just a damn carseat w removable carrier that snaps into a stroller. I swear to god, shopping for baby stuff is way less fun than I anticipated. Usually I am so organized and know all the ins and outs of what I’m looking to buy but w this baby stuff it’s like it’s all in Japanese or something. I feel like I have no clue what I’m even looking at half the time and I just leave feeling like I wasted my whole evening, lost and dejected. And I’m exhausted cuz I didn’t take a nap since we went shopping. Did I get up early? No, but I still need a nap in the afternoon/early evening. I have so much stuff to get yet and I just feel so lost. Ugh. Hopefully I snap out of this and somehow get magically organized. I need a new notebook. That’s what I need.
This polish is really super cute. I can’t being myself to spend 20+ on a polish but if I ever win some money on a lottery ticket or find a $20 bill, I wouldn’t mind blowing it on one. If they had a nice smooth yellow…. now THAT would be (nearly) worth 20 bucks. 😉

Ok, so I can’t even imagine what it must be like to try to get ready for a baby. I’m trying to think how crazy I got when I was getting ready for Alfie and how stressed out I was when I got him thinking he was unhappy or was going to get parvo or distemper or ebola…good luck, mama! lol I’m just a worrier so I am pretty sure I would drive myself nuts which is probably why God conspired to give me “challenged” reproductive organs. God FTW! I’m sure that you’re going to get tons of stuff for your baby shower so at least you can look forward to tons of diapers and cute baby stuff to look through.
About the polish, I don’t know what’s up with my polish craziness. Here I am complaining about finances (you know the ongoing drama with that) and I just bought a $24 polish. Aren’t you glad to see I’ve got my priorities straight?
Haha well I can understand cuz even if you’re broke it gets to the point that you’re so sick of it you just want to get yourself something NICE!! I can’t judge on that front! 😉

I am glad that I am not the only one the pretty polish bottles talk persuasively too. I bring them home only to realize that I have four similar colors and I tell my brain, “LA LA LA LA LA! Just put it away and ignore that this entire row of polish are all essentially the same color!”
Damaged free nail mail is the most disappointing mail of all (except, perhaps, overdue bills – but that is reality and we are just talking about nail polish here).
GAH! This Dior is adorable. Like, so adorable that I want it just because it looks so cute. And I think I will always assume it will magically shrink my ass just because you said so. THAT is worth $24!
I don’t have any Dior polishes, but I have a couple of Chanels (Kaledioscope and Peridot). Those are probably my most expensive polishes, but I’d have to double-check to be certain.
Yesterday was actually some what awesome work-wise in that I found out I’m going to be getting a big order that I didn’t think I would get. IN YO FACE!!!
Oh, and I’m totally with you on like long-term future finances…I’m in my 30s, barely making it now, and not set up for down the road in any way…LA LA LA LA LA!

LA LA LA LA LA LA! LMAO…I am going to say that in my head from now on. When I’m getting a review at work and I’m being told I’m getting an unsatisfactory rating “LA LA LA LA LA.” When the IRS is sending me another notice “LA LA LA LA LA LA.” Anyway, that is really cool about that big order. I remember at my last job when I would close an unexpected sale and it totally made my day. 🙂 I really wanted to get Peridot when it first came out but then I realized that I hate it. LMAO I just don’t like metallic type polishes even if they are duo chromes and all that craziness.
I bet that Dior Rosy Bow does have magical ass-shrinking properties. I just wish it could stop this crazy stress induced eye-twitching! :/
I got Peridot because it is my birthstone and it was all the hotness at the time so I tricked myself into thinking it was necessary for me to have it, what with its significance and all. I don’t regret it…I wore it to a big meeting and felt all fancy pants. It’s kind of an unusual color that you can get away with at work. Of course, I’ve worn it exactly once.
We need to market our inappropriately-themed nail polish as having magical ass-shrinking properties because it’s the best selling point ever. I’d buy it!
