China Glaze On Your Knees!

Is it just me, or were polish names a little more risqué in the past? I seem to keep running across a lot of older polishes with very interesting names, and today I have another oldie but goodie. China Glaze On Your Knees! was part of the 2002 Winter collection called Crown Jewels. Lately I have been on a total old polish buying binge–the older they are, the more excited I get. You can blame all the dusties in my area for my recent obsession with older polishes.

Behold the Fall beauty of China Glaze On Your Knees!

This polish has a glowing cinnamon aspect to it so it reminds me a little bit of Jessica’s Cinnamon Kiss. This polish is definitely not 3-free and I found the formula dreamy: it is a little sheer but it’s super easy to control and apply. These are the type of colors that I look forward to wearing every fall and winter.

And because I’ve missed my stamping…

I really don’t like the Essie Mirror Metallics as regular polish, but I love them for stamping. Look how gorgeously crisp the stamping is with As Good As Gold! I used a design from Mash plate 41 for this design in case you were wondering. Doesn’t it remind you of a chain link fence?

I might have asked this before, but does it annoy you when I feature polishes that are discontinued and are probably hard to find? I have found so many amazing polishes (some even pre-2000) lately so I’m super excited to share them on here. Let me know what you think about this and about my latest mani. I love hearing all your opinions. Thanks again for stopping by–your feedback keeps this blog fun for me. 🙂

  1. It doesn’t annoy me. I just like to see pretty nails. Plus, I don’t necessarily recreate manis exactly, I like to use them for inspiration and swap the colors or whatever. These nails are amazing. I love the color combination, the stamping is perfection and it just looks like it was made to be together. I want more of the Essie MM collex but don’t wanna spend $7+ on them for stamping so I’m gonna wait it out. This looks absolutely awesome though. Really really really good job. These are my favorite nails I’ve seen for a while. Something about them is just really grabbing me. And I don’t even like dark red that much.

    1. Now that I know how awesome those polishes work for stamping, I want them all. I only have this one and Nothing Else Metals. I haven’t seen any of the other colors at my cheap nail places and I’m with you: I am not paying full price if I’m only going to use them for stamping. I have a few other chrome/metallic polishes that I might try out for stamping. I have these super old China Glaze Classic Chromes polishes that might stamp hella cool. Thank you for the compliments on my nubs. 😀

Oh good lord. I am writing this reply as we have the sausage-fest on twitter. Big, thick sausage….hmmmmmm!

  2. I love posts on really old polishes. It’s fun to see changes in trends, and you’re totally right about older polish names being …special. some are great and others are enough to make you wonder about the namer.

  3. I really like these two polishes together!! I can’t stamp for the life of me, and it makes me sad… I also love posts on older polishes, its fun to look at!! Beautiful nails!

  4. NOPE! I love seeing these old polishes. I am newer to the polish world so its like I get to see what I was missing out on before 🙂 Thanks! Love the stamping too, I thought it was chain link.

  5. So I read the Twitter discussion before the post. The name is really, “Uh, wow,” to me, but since it is part of some royally-themed collection, I guess I can see it being *slightly* less risque. But still…uh, wow.
THIS MANI IS FABOO! Good Lord, just rich, fall, perfection!
I don’t mind seeing older polishes. “Well, crap, I can’t buy it because it’s old,” has never crossed my mind. Maybe it’s even better! That way I don’t 1. spend money and/or 2. obsess over getting a certain color (hello, WnW SBTB collection!).

  6. Oohh dirty polish! Hahaha! Love it love the name! 7. This is a really nice combination! I actually quite looking at and reading about discontinued and hard to find polishes.

    1. Oops! This is what I meant to say:
I actually quite *like* looking at and reading about discontinued/hard to find polishes.

    1. I loooooove getting my hands on older polishes that are discontinued or htf. There are so many awesome CG polishes that I have found recently so I’ll be getting those up on the blog sometime soon.
