China Glaze Deviantly Daring

I realize I’m late to the New Bohemian party but I still ended up getting a couple of polishes from the China Glaze New Bohemian Collection. China Glaze Deviantly Daring is probably the only color that really interested me from this collection after I saw what a duochrome fail the whole collection turned out to be. I think that the colors are pretty, but I was so incredibly let down once swatches started popping up online that I just decided to pass on the whole collection when it first came out.I came across some of the polishes at one of my dusties for dirt cheap so I picked up this color and No Plain Jane.

China Glaze Deviantly Daring is a described as an “adventurously bold peacock teal” and I think that description suits it just fine.  I am always a huge fun of teal polishes so I am happy that I decided to pick this one up.  I thought the formula was pretty darn perfect. It was easy to control and it was opaque in two coats.

Something weird happened when I applied my top coat of Seche Vite: I found that the duochrome showed up a lot better.  I could really see the darker blue flash on the tips and edges of my nails!  It’s still not as majestic as I had hoped when I saw bottle shots, but it’s pretty. Brush strokes are one of my most hated polish issues and unfortunately, there were some visible brush strokes: not enough to make me hate the polish but enough to  let me they are there–teasing me.

Since I’ve been on a star kick lately, I decided to use another star stamp over Deviantly Daring.

What do you think? I think that if I find more of these New Bohemian polishes for cheap, I will purchase them. Did you get any of these polishes? What did you think of them?

Thanks for stopping by and catching up. Stay cool and until next time!

  1. well as you know, i can’t find this kind of polish in my country, so when I went to chicago last month I bought some ChG of the latest collections. Deviantly Daring was the only one I bought from Bohemian Luster. It was a disappointment to me, being really honest, it doesn’t look at all like the bottle. The color is pretty, but I was thinking it was going to look more “blue-ish” maybe. Application and color was OK, but not what I expected.

I think you can buy it online very cheap, let me send you via DM on twitter the page a friend of mine recommended.

  2. If I get them on clearance next month for like 2 bucks I might pick up one or two but even if I just don’t see them I think I’ll be ok. I’m disappointed in how the finishes product looks so that kinda makes me not want them when that happens. That being said- when you don’t expect it to be super color shifting this is a really pretty color.

  3. The purple one is a huge letdown. Like, ew. This one looks better. I have total buyers remorse over the one I got…

(Sorry I havent been around! I’m lurking though, lol)

  4. I passed on the collection, although this one is my favorite color from it. I like the color, it’s just not what we all thought it would be.
The mani looks good! At least the plates are stamping well!

    1. i was expecting something darker.. IDK why.. it was just a disappointment to me.. even though i was so unhappy about it, i used it anyways.. just to notice that it is almost a dupe of Sally Hansen InstaDri Blue Streak.. i took a picture of a friend’s blog to show you: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8tkiLXYF02s/T4Re1wx6nYI/AAAAAAAAA4k/zEv7-s1isgA/s320/P1120149.JPG

well.. i guess i wouldn’t mind if i get these polishes for free, but not sure if worth it to pay full price for them, i pay for this exact polish.. and it was a disappointment.
