Tonic Juice Box Chaser

Tonic Juice Box Chaser

Hello first freaking Monday of March which also means 2 more months before I move back into my newly remodeled and revamped apartment. I have been spending a ridiculous amount of time looking at furniture online since I’m going to be furnishing my new place with 100% new stuff. I actually trashed every bit of furniture and appliances that I had at my own place so now I’m going to have a lot of choices to make. Other than that, I’m just plugging along at work and getting ready for a bunch of changes. Today I have a gorgeous polish to share with you and I hope you don’t hate me because it’s not currently available. Tonic Juice Box Chaser is one of those colors that just seems to glow and that you never want to take off. Let’s take a look at my swatches below. Continue reading “Tonic Juice Box Chaser”

OPI What’s With The Cattitude? – #vintagepolishfriday

OPI What’s With The Cattitude? – #vintagepolishfriday

I feel like it’s been forever since I did one of these Vintage Polish Friday posts. In case you don’t even remember this series, you can check out my previous posts here. The basic premise is that I revisit vintage polishes and re-swatch them. It’s a nice trip down memory lane AND it gives me the opportunity to use polishes that normally don’t get much use. The downside is that if you really fall in love with a polish, it most likely is not readily available. For the sake of my posts, I consider polishes 10+ years as vintage so today’s polish barely squirmed through. OPI What’s With The Cattitude is the polish I have for you today so let’s take a look at my swatches below. Continue reading “OPI What’s With The Cattitude? – #vintagepolishfriday”

Orosa Beauty Fall Collection 2019

Orosa Beauty Fall Collection 2019

I know that I’m super late posting these swatches, but I have an excuse. They also fell victim to the SD card that disappeared during my move. I wanted to re-swatch the collection, but then I had so much stuff in storage that it all fell by the wayside. WHen I moved, I got a hard lesson in living simple and not having a bunch of stuff that I didn’t really need. I feel that I am now living with a mindset of getting rid of anything that I don’t use daily–like Marie Kondo x1,000. So here I am with these lost and found swatches; well, I guess better late than never! Orosa excels at creating gorgeous and smooth cremes and this collection is no exception. Let me show you my swatches of the Orosa Beauty Fall Collection for 2019. Continue reading “Orosa Beauty Fall Collection 2019”

KBShimmer Sól What? – PPU & IPU March 2020

KBShimmer Sól What? – PPU & IPU March 2020

I know that February is a short month, but I’m still shocked that March is right around the corner. I recently got the news that my place will be ready by May 1st which means that I only have to stay at my temporary place for 2 more months. You have no idea how happy this makes me because I’ve felt displaced since December. It has definitely been rough, but I feel like I am now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I just have to wait it out for 2 more months.  So that’s great new for me that has definitely put me in a much better mood–which brings me to other things that put me in good mood: pretty polish! Today I am sharing with you my swatches of KBShimmer Sól What? and their pomegranate sugar scrub. Let’s take a look at my swatches below. Zoya Calm Collection Spring 2020

Zoya Calm Collection Spring 2020

Hey there! How was your weekend? I didn’t do much except a bunch of laundry–which I love doing! I don’t know what it is about doing laundry that I enjoy so much. I can imagine that I might not like it as much if I had to do it for a bunch of people, but I thoroughly enjoy folding and putting away piles of warm clean clothes. Ok, I’m a weirdo. Normally I’m more of a Summer/Fall nail polish collection lover, but when I got the Zoya Calm Collection shades for Spring 2020, I thought they look particularly delicate and feminine so I figured I might end up liking them. Let’s take a look at my swatches below and then I’ll let you know what I think about the collection. Continue reading “Zoya Calm Collection Spring 2020”

KBShimmer Let It Beetle – PPU & IPU February 2020

KBShimmer Let It Beetle – PPU & IPU February 2020

You’d think that due to the holiday today, I’d be enjoying having a day off to relax; alas, I came down with a nasty cold and have just been hiding out in my den of germs for the last 5 days. I’ve been living off a combination of Nyquil, Dayquil and Theraflu which pretty much knocks me out for hours at a time. I’m not complaining since I 100% need the rest. I’m glad that I got right on swatching these items as soon as I got them because I wouldn’t be getting it done now with the way I’m feeling. For today’s post, I have KBShimmer Let It Beetle and a new Freesia sugar scrub which will be available for PPU and IPU in February. Let’s take a look at my swatches below. Zoya Sensual Collection Fall 2019

Zoya Sensual Collection Fall 2019

Well hello there Cynthia-come-lately! I have a story about why I’m so late to posting this collection. Back when I swatched it, I misplaced the SD card where I had saved the pictures. Then I moved and had zero hopes about finding the SD card until this past weekend when I randomly found it in a small bag in my polish box. Yes, you read that correctly…I have a polish box.  Since my move is only temporary, I could not cart all of my polish with me so I have a small shoebox with nail polish essentials. It feels weird not having all of my polish to go through when I want to do my nails, but this move has taught me a lot about wants vs. necessities. So for today’s post, I’m sharing the Zoya Sensual Collection which was their Fall release. I’m sure you’ve seen a million posts about this collection but humor me, ok? Let’s take a look at my swatches below. Continue reading “Zoya Sensual Collection Fall 2019”

A-England Tales From The Tower Collection

A-England Tales From The Tower Collection

Today I have another gorgeous collection to share with you, but before I get into all the swatches and whatnot, I was thinking about how it’s almost mid-January and my 8th year blogging anniversary came and went without a peep from me on my blog. Can you believe I’ve been at this for 8 years?! I know that every year I toy with the idea of closing down my blog, but it seems that this year I have decided to get back on track and revive this little hobby. I am not going to put pressure on myself and agonize when I don’t post as often as I think I should. I’m going to put the love back into actually writing–even though I feel like people just don’t want to read blogs anymore. Isn’t that sad? Anyway, I’ll talk more about my future blog plans another day. Now, let’s get on with the show and let’s take a look at my swatches of the A-England Tales From The Tower Collection. A-England Poe’s Tale Collection

A-England Poe’s Tale Collection

One of my first loves has always been literature. At a certain point, I was convinced that I would pursue the life of academia and would eventually become a literature professor focusing on Elizabethan-era literature. Things didn’t quite turn out that way. I feel that for a while, I lost my passion for most of the things that had shaped me as an adult but I’m glad to say that I’m finding my way back. Making time for reading has been difficult, but I have come to realize that you have to force yourself to make the time for the things that are important to you. Now, the reason why I’m talking about my love for literature is because I have a beautiful collection to share with you today. A-England Poe’s Tale Collection made me think of the first time I read The Raven and how my love for Poe’s work spiraled from there. Let’s take a look at my swatches below.
