Sometimes I forget that nailistas in other countries are not as fortunate, but because there are so many awesome stockists now, the accessibility barriers are coming down a bit. Today I have an awesome post to share with you, and I am very excited because this is my first experience with Cadillacquer which is a Swiss brand. The Cadillacquer Fan Collection was created in collaboration with…FANS! I love the idea of this so there will be a lot of information regarding the fan and inspiration behind each shade so grab some snacks and survival gear so we can dive right in!
Cadillacquer Devotion

Inspiration: Ilaria’s favorite song, “Bittersweet” by Apocalyptica
Description: Dark purple with magenta shimmer and gold galaxy holographic glitter
Coats: 2 plus topcoat
I had no problems with application. The formula was nice–not too thick and not too thin. The first coat was rather sheer, but the second coat built it up nicely. At certain angles, I felt it could have used a third coat but overall, I like how it looks with 2 coats. If you are a purple lover, you will love his one.
Cadillacquer BSoD

Inspiration: The dreaded “Blue Screen of Death”
Description: Blue jelly filled with different sized white glitter
Coats: 3 plus topcoat
As a lover of blue polish, my heart skipped a beat with this one. Because it is a straight up jelly, be ready for VNL and to apply multiple coats. The white glitter in this polish seems to float within this polish and gives it such beautiful depth.
Cadillacquer Dean

Description: Black holo with strong red and orange shimmer
Coats: 2 plus topcoat
Due to the heavy shimmer in this polish, it appears like more of a charcoal/brown. The formula on this polish was beautiful: it flowed easily and was self leveling. Two coats will get you a perfectly opaque result.
Cadillacquer Gold Rush

Inspiration: Lost treasures in the deep sea
Description: Dark teal and blue jelly filled with small chartreuse metallic glitter
Coats: 3 plus topcoat
Teal polish is another weakness of mine and this one did not disappoint. I absolutely love the base color and the glitter just floats between each coat. Be prepared to apply at least 3 coats depending on your preference.
Cadillacquer From The Ashes

Inspiration: The Phoenix, Hawkes, from Harry Potter
Description: Light grey-blue holo filled with gold, orange red and matte magenta glitter with small iridescent blue flakies.
Coats: 2 plus topcoat
This is a serious glitter bomb! I think the base color is beautiful and the fiery glitter really pops. The formula felt a little thick because it has so much glitter, but I did not have any issues with application. You will get a perfectly opaque result with 2 coats. The removal was easy, but be prepared for glitter to get into every crevice.
Cadillacquer Princess Swan

Inspiration: The Swan Princess by Russian artist Mikhail Vrubelr
Description: Light blue crelly, slightly grey leaning, with small red metallic glitter and square red metallic glitter
Coats: 3 plus topcoat
It’s so hard to pick a favorite from this collection, but I think this is my favorite! I just love how the red pops against the blue base. To my eye, it’s an unusual combination and maybe that’s why I like it so much. Because it is a crelly, you will need multiple coats. I ended up with 3 coats, but 2 thick coats might work well.
Cadillacquer Odette

Description: Grey leaning white scattered with holo and different sized silver metallic glitter
Coats: 2 plus topcoat
This is a very delicate looking polish, but it has some interesting depth despite the lack of contrasting colors. I found this polish to be a little on the thick side, so I was glad to get full opacity with just two coats.
I am thoroughly impressed both by the quality and execution of the inspiration material. I am sorry that it has taken me this long to try out such a great brand and now understand why it is so beloved by their fans. I did want to mention that I am missing a polish: White Night by Maria from little_zzi. I will probably end up purchasing it to complete the collection, but I don’t currently see it available. Not heard of this brand but they looks so nice. Yes I agree here in the U.K. I personally think it harder to get even some main stream brand polish!
