You know when you realize that you are waaaayyyy too old to be staying up all night? That was me last night. I wasn’t really planning on doing anything, but my friend called me and we ended up going out to karaoke. After we sang a bunch of embarrassing songs (I sang Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend…don’t say it), we went to a Vietnamese restaurant; I should have had some pho since it was wicked cold. After that, we went to another place for coffee and before we knew it, it was 3 am and I was basically a zombie. I remember the days when I used to stay out all night, sleep for a couple of hours and then head to class without even blinking. Ahhh…to be in my early 20’s again! The sun has set on those days, hasn’t it? Don’t get me wrong–I had a lot of fun, but it’s not something I can do a regular basis.ย So…what did I decided to do with my nails today? I slapped on another untried: Butter London Marrow.
This is such a strange polish! I don’t know if I just really love it of I’m just trying to figure out what it is about it that is confusing me. I think I sound a little nuts right now, right? With all the purple polishes in my life, I think this one is rather unique in my stash. I normally don’t have anything to complain about when it comes to the Butter London formula, but this one was not what I was expecting. It is so pigmented that I figured it wouldn’t take more than 2 coats, but I had to apply a third thick coat because I had some bald spots even though I waited for each coat to dry.
It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve done a plain and simple manicure. Somehow I feel that my nails are boring when I’m not stamping or beddazling the crap out of them. Here I used a design from Konad plate M64 and stamped with Wet N Wild I Can’t Stand Up Straight. I then used Wet N Wild French White Creamย and a dotting tool to apply the white dots.

Your night sounds so fun!! Sounds like just what you needed even if you’re pooped today. It’s ok that you sang that awful song. I won’t tell anyone. I really like these nails. They look cool w the stamping and the dotting w the white. And I think this polish looks nice. It looks kinda like a greige-y purple in the pics. Too bad about the formula tho. It probably would have went on better if BL didn’t have the SMALLEST BRUSHES KNOWN TO MAN!!!

Oh yeah, it was super fun and I think you are right: it was just what I needed to clear my mind because you know…me and the rage were getting out of control. LOL You know, I think I am not used to the BL brush. It’s so thin that I get great control with it but I definitely have to brush on the color in like FIVE strokes. lol I love the OPI prowide brush because sometimes, if I do it just right, I only need one swipe of the brush. Now that’s awesome. Despite the weird formula on this one, I think I’ll wear it again!

I like BL Marrow but if I remember correctly I agree that it’s formula is a little weird.

No comment on the Bieber …. ๐ I love the stamping plus dotting you did, it brings the polish to life. It sucks that the formula wasn’t great considering how pricey BL is.

Yeah, usually I don’t have anything to complain about when it comes to their formula (but I still think they are slightly overpriced and will only get them on sale), but this one was just STRANGE! The color is nice and I’m sure I’ll wear it again eventually. ๐

i sort of understand what you mean about the boring plain nails, but i must confess that i’m being lazy lately, so i’m wearing a lot of thin glitter and plain manicures and people are starting to get disappointed, i’ve heard things like: what about your nail art? why are you wearing a normal manicure, you’re supposed to be ghetto (that was the worst, for a moment I almost answered oh you didn’t, but then i didn’t care, i’m to tired to argue)..
i hate the bald spots, i’m wearing ChG towel boy toy, and I don’t know if it is the formula or only my polish, but i waited a while between each of the 3 coats and it still has bald spots, i ended up doing a saran wrap LOL, i loved you mani, i really like when the nail is stamped and combined with another thing.
regarding staying up all night. IDK what you mean by that, i’ve never been the kind of person. sometimes i’m all in the party mode like let’s stay awake all night long i’m still young i never do it LET’S PART-TEEEY and at 11pm I’m all like bitch please, i miss my bed (this is my face – http://troll.me/images/yao-ming/bitch-please.jpg)
i love karaokes.. i always sing a lot, i’ve wanted to buy it for a while now, but my husband always stop me, for his own peace of mind i guess LOL.

LOL…OMG! People are doing that to me too. They always grab my hands and ask: Oh, what do you have on today?!?!?! When it’s something like just a plain color, they get all disappointed in me. hahahaha I have CG Towel Boy Toy and I have the same issues with it. It’s a super sheer neon so it’s always going to look like that. Too bad it’s such a beautiful color! Ugh…I have always been such a night owl so it was even worse when I was younger. I remember that when I was in France, I would go out all night, sleep an hour or two, go to school, get home and leave for work and then get back home and do it all over again. It was fun but it eventually caught up with me. One day I went to pick up the girls I was tutoring at their ballet class. I sat down on a bench to wait for them while they finished and I PASSED OUT. Literally passed out on the bench. I bet I was snoring and all. I woke up to one of the girls shaking me awake. LOL That was horrible and I had to tone it down. LOL at that meme…so hilarious! I think I’m more like that now that I’m in my 30’s.

well.. right now it’s almost midnight, we had some friends over for dinner and I’m fallin asleep.. but we’re watching mad men, we are addicted to this tv show..
the sad part is that we’re watching in on my laptop (a 13″ screen). our tv broke on thursday.
there was a power outage long story short in spanish: estaban pintando el edificio, q es de 24 pisos, cuando lanzaron la cuerda para poner los andamios, cayeron sobre los cables de electricidad y dejaron sin luz a todo el barrio.
when the electricity came back, the tv didn’t work. my husband was sick at home and he called me: please don’t freak out but the tv doesn’t work.
i needed to get this out of my system. LOL.

Since I cut my cable, I can’t watch any of those shows unless I find them online. I have Mad Men on Netflix but the show seems so sloooooow that I haven’t gotten past the second season. I can’t seem to get into it, but so many people love it. Since their accident technically broke your tv, are they going to do anything about it? I would be so mad if my tv broke like that–it was probably a power surge, you think?

This manicure is so beautiful to me and it’s the stamping design that does it for me. The design and WnW polish really liven up the BL color. Excellent work. Now when are you coming to Chicago to do my nails? ๐

I am quite happy with this mani to tell you the truth. It was so easy to do but I think it turned out really fun and different. I’ve never been to Chicago–that would be fun!

I do totally remember staying up until absolutely insane hours in college, sleeping a few hours, and then going to class like it wasn’t no thang. Those days have most definitely passed. I rarely make it a Friday without falling asleep on the couch!
I love the end result of the mani! I like the color, but feel like there are a lot of similar ones out there, perhaps with better formulas, but it’s cool how you added to the stamp.

I love the stamp. Hell stamp your nails with your bum and I’ll probably still like that… Well depends how it comes out ๐ hehe! I like most that you added the polkas because that makes the whole thing stand out.
