31 Inspired Days of Nail Art – Day 20: Delicate Print Nails

Delicate. Nothing is “delicate” about me so I had to really think about what I wanted to do with my nails today. I looked through polish stash, and I zeroed in on China Glaze Who’s Wearing What. As far as I can tell from various internet sources, Who’s Wearing What comes form the 2004 Creme Couture Collection. I can honestly say that this is my absolute favorite greyed dusty purple EVER. I am not kidding. It’s the absolute most perfect dusty purple/grey for my skin tone. In fact, I love it so much that I’m going to have to get a back up or two since I sold recently sold my extra bottle in my blog sale. (Shameless plug: go check out my blog sale–I am adding tons of new stuff every day.)

Didn’t I tell you this was a gorgeous color? For those of you who like to go dusty hunting, this is one to put on your list if you don’t own it yet. Since it’s close to 10 years old, it is not big 3-free in case that is a major concern for you. The formula is nice and definitely needs two coats. It is super important to apply thin coats because it does tend to get a little streaky as you can tell from my pics. Still…I adore it.

And here is my idea of delicate print:

I decided to use Essie Nothing Else Metals again and used a design from Bundle Monster plate BM 310. What an awesome polish for stamping! In fact, all of the Essie Mirror Metallics rock for stamping.

And in the “I eat like a pig” food chronicles, here is my dinner:

Tacos al pastor…I love you. That’s all I have to say about that.

What do you think about my delicate print nails? Did I achieve a delicate look? Don’t forget to check out Nicole’s delicate print nails over at Polish Me, Please!

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE the gray/purple!!!! LOVE. NEED. 🙂 And the color of the stamping could not have been more perfect!!! I’m IN LOVE with this mani. 🙂

    1. Awww…thank you so much. I am so serious when I say that this China Glaze polish is hands down one of my favorites. It’s just so perfect…ladylike but kind of with an edge. I don’t even know how else to describe it. I am also loving that the older polishes were .65 oz instead of .5 🙂

  2. “Nothing is “delicate” about me…” hahaha!
Wowza, that is a great color, and I love your delicate nails! Did you reverse every other nail (ChG base, Essie stamp, Essie base, ChG stamp), or am I buggin’? Either way, I like it!
I have had a burrito fail for the past two days, so I am extra-jealous of these tacos. I went to one place because it was by a store I needed to go to and it sucked, and then I did the same thing the next day with a different place and ordered the wrong thing. So I’m giving up, hahaha.

    1. Yes, I did reverse the stamp! I think it would have looked really delicate and dainty if I had just used the thinner filigree looking stamp but I liked how it looked with the alternating stamping. It’s actually two different stamping designs so my base color is Who’s Wearing What on all my nails. I think it turned out pretty nice.

Well, I dunno what to tell you about your food fail. LOL

    1. Why is it that companies always discontinue the best nail polishes???? I am going to try to find some more bottles so I can hoard them and never run out. lol

  3. Didn’t I reply on this post?! I guess not! They look like the prettiest quilted toilet paper ever!! JK!! Well, I’m actually a little serious but I mean it in a good way. It kind of looks like the matte/shiny designs… I swear I already told you that. Must have been on Twitter! (I just wrote Twotter at first!! WHOOPS!!)

    1. I like how these look quilted!! I did the same stamping with another polish…I think it was a dark purple with a coat of Fantasy Fire and they looked AH-MAZING. We have so many social network stuff going on that it’s hard to keep track of what/where we have said stuff. lol
