31 Inspired Days of Nail Art – Day 12 : Chevron Nails

I was feeling completely uninspired about doing today’s challenge. I love chevrons on my nails, but I don’t think that chevrons would look good on my rounded super short nails so I decided to to inverted chevrons.

Sation Rock-a-guy Blue is a great blue that I recently purchased. It’s my favorite color from the Little Horse On The Prairie Collection.

I then used Sation Blue Sky’s The Limit for the inverted chevron tips. I am so annoyed that I didn’t see a couple of fibers on my nails and now I can’t do anything about it. Grrrrrr!

I don’t know why I decided to stamp over this, but I did…

I used the paisley print from Bundle Monster plate BM 315 and Wet N Wild’s I Can’t Stand Up Straight. This is so subtle that I can barely tell the stamping is there in indirect light. I’m totally not feeling this stamp on these base colors–can’t win them all.

I need to go cook dinner so forgive me if I’m not particularly talkative throughout this post. Today is a crappy day–just feeling a little down in the dumps so hopefully I’ll feel better once I eat something. Food: always the answer! 🙂

Don’t forget to check out the other manicures my lovely challenge participants created. Thanks for catching up with me today.

  1. i remember that a few months ago, I a manicure, and the stamp looked just like yours. you know, you can’t see it on some type of light.. i was feeling like a i have a secret code on my hands.
i need to leave also, i’m going to cook dinner, and because I’m starving.. what did you cook today?

    1. I had to get rid of the stamping on my nails so now I feel better about this mani. lol I didn’t make anything too interesting for dinner: just steak and a baked potato. I have some chocolate ice cream calling my name in the freezer, but I’m trying to be good.

      1. we had fried fish, mediterranean vegetables (zucchini, eggplant, potatos, onions and cayenne).. but i don’t like zucchini, so i made white rice.. i love white rice.. i could eat white rice every single day of my life.

so the thing is that we had some friends for dinner.. and dessert was delicious chocolate with marshmallow ice cream.. it’s my favorite. i added more marshmallow and leche condensada..
we ate all the ice cream.. now that i described the dessert, i feel like eating more ice cream.. :'(

  2. I really like the Rock A Guy polish, pretty blue and I’m not a fan of blue polish. Your chevron design was nice without the stamping.
    You can’t win them all.
So what’s for dinner?? We’re having crab legs and shrimp.

    1. I totally agree. I always have to keep pushing it further until it gets ugly. lol I ended up getting rid of the stamping. I always apply an extra thick coat of seche vite under my stamping so I can remove the design with acetone without messing up the colors underneath.

Oh, crab legs and shrimp sound so good. I love seafood. I ended up making some steak and a baked potato. Too many carbs…not good for me.

    1. Word on the street is that Sation is coming to select TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores. I personally haven’t seen them there yet. But if you ever want some Sations, just let me know and I’ll pick them up for you at my most awesome nail places.

  3. I love the Chevron! It just looks so nice and clean! I do like it better without the stamp, but it sounds like you were able to remove it without ruining the mani? That is magical!
Dinner last night was disappointing. I threw in some Stouffer’s thing while I was doing laundry and it took forever (I think an hour and a half!) and it wasn’t all that at all. I guess I can’t expect much if I’m not going to put in the effort, but I was already beat by the time I thought about dinner!

    1. Yes, the consensus is that the mani looked better before the stamp and I totally agree. Whenever I do some questionable stamping on my nails, I always apply a super thick coat of seche vite. I take some lint free cotton squares and saturate them with acetone and do a quick swipe and the offending stamp is gone. 🙂 Yay!

Stouffer’s…an hour and a half??? Was it one of those big dinner things like the lasagna? I buy a lot of frozen food for my brother so he can stop bugging me about food. It always annoys me how he posts on FB that he’s “soooo hungry” just to get girl’s attention. lol Some girl was telling him to come over and that she would cook for him. YES, PLEASE TAKE HIM! PLEASE!!!!!!

      1. O…M…G…*massive eye roll* Ah, to be young again and fall for that kinda crap! But, yes, if some girl does fall for that kinda crap, at least he’ll be out of your hair for a while!
Yeah, it was some casserole-type thing. I like their lasagnas, but I didn’t dig this…some sort of mac & cheese/broccoli/chicken deal.

  4. I love these nails (without the stamp)!!! The colors are so pretty and I just love it. I didn’t like the stamp but since you’re such a smart cookie and do the good coat of base coat so you can just delete the stamp (stamping insurance!) that was no problemo! 🙂 It’s funny you and Ave ended up with very similar manis. Ugh every time I see your lovely Sation polishes I have a little fit because I love them and really want some….. my marshalls needs to hustle up and get some!!! Maybe I’ll check tomorrow. I promised my husband I’d go register to vote (yup, that means I haven’t been registered and therefor not voting, please don’t chew me out) tomorrow so as a reward I think I’ll go look for some super-cheapo polishes 😉 I’m getting my hair done tomorrow, too, but that doesn’t count. That’s maintenance. 😉

    1. Stamping insurance is a must nowadays since I keep doing some funky manicures. 🙂

Ok, I’m not going to lecture you about voting. I never lecture people about voting but the only thing I tell non-voters is that they can’t complain about anything when it comes to government/economy/foreign policy etc… if they don’t exercise their right to vote as a US citizen. 😛 Ok, the end. hehehe I was so excited when I turned 18 and could vote even if it usually is choosing the lesser of two evils. I’m going to be a binder for halloween! I can see how people get disenchanted and don’t really care about voting so I’m not really lecturing you. Did you register?

Oh, and what did you do to your hair?!?!
